Tourism industry professional Winston Hall has been appointed to join the Visit Sunshine Coast Board as a skill-based director.
Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC) has welcomed industry professional, Winston Hall, to their Board.
Mr Hall is the AccorHotels Regional General Manager for Northern Queensland and brings more than 25 years’ experience to the skill-based role.
The VSC Board is made up of industry, business and local community representatives in six skill-based and three member-elected positions.
VSC Board Chair David Ryan said Mr Hall’s appointment was a welcome addition to the Board, and his experience, knowledge and passion for the industry would make him a great asset.
“The Board’s role is to provide expert guidance to VSC and the entire tourism industry,” Mr Ryan said.
“Winston’s experience on both a local and international level will ensure we continue to best represent the interests of our members and stakeholders.
“This is an exciting time for tourism on the Sunshine Coast, with a four-day food festival and $8 million conference centre recently announced for the region.
“Going forward, I am confident Winston will provide valuable insights as we continue to raise the profile of the Sunshine Coast as a leisure and business destination.”
At AccorHotels Mr Hall oversees the portfolio of Peppers, Mantra and BreakFree properties from Caloundra to Port Douglas.
He has lived and worked on the Sunshine Coast for the past 11 years and has an in-depth knowledge of the region’s tourism market.
“I’m looking forward to working with the Board, stakeholders and the community to collectively identify new opportunities to grow and develop our great region for continued prosperity through a thriving tourism industry,” Mr Hall said.
In addition to Mr Hall’s appointment, the VSC Board is currently calling for nominations for one member-elected director position.
Nominations for the role can be made by those who are a current VSC financial member and were a current financial member at 30 June, 2018. Nominees need not be a member. Nominations are due by 25 October, 2018.
